capabilities of optics from Nu-Tek Precision Optical Corp. For over 25 years, Nu-Tek has been manufacturing and designing large machining from Nu-Tek Precision Optical Corp.and small custom optics, and optomechanical assemblies for use in the UV, VIS and IR spectrum. This includes precision aspheres, on and off-axis aspheric mirrors, collimators, telescope systems and ruggedized multi-focal length IR/VIS sealed telescopes. Some of the astronomical telescopes and beam expanders use the latest optical/mechanical designs including lightweighting and special graphite epoxy structures. Other optical systems and sub-assemblies include Flight and Space qualified optics, large and small lens assemblies, optical windows, optical flats, spherical mirrors, beamsplitters, wedged windows and prisms.

Nu-Tek has several diamond-turning machines capable of machining soft metals, crystals, plastics, and polymers up to 700mm diameter to various shapes and contours. Some of the types of materials used include: Aluminum, copper, brass and nickel plated metals; Calcium fluoride (CaF2), Barium fluoride (BaF2), Zinc sulfide (ZnS), Zinc selenide (ZnSe), Amtir, Germanium (Ge) and Silicon (Si). Nu-Tek offers post-polishing services on most of diamond-turned optics to < 20 Å rms. Each diamond-turning machine is equipped with its own profilometer. Other metrology off the machine include various interferometers up to 18” diameter, profilometers and surface roughness measuring equipment with accuracies to one angstrom RMS noncontact.

massive optics from Nu-Tek Precision Optical Corp.We offer grinding and polishing services for a wide variety of glasses, metrology from Nu-Tek Precision Optical Corp.ceramics and metals including all standard optical glasses, as well as Zerodur, Pyrex, Fused Silica and ULE. We polish specialty materials as well, including spinel (MgAl2O4) for transparent armor windows and lenses.

Metrology: Includes testing optics up to 57” diameter on-axis in auto-collimation with our 57” diameter flat. Our largest phase measuring interferometer is capable of testing up to 18” in diameter for flats, windows & aspheres. We also test with various smaller interferometers. Our longest air table is 20’ × 4’. Our vibration insensitive interferometer allows us to test in any environment, without an air table.
